Electrical & RF Engineer (UAV Systems)
As an Electrical & RF Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, integrating and optimising electrical and RF systems within our UAV platforms.
On a mission
At DeltaQuad, you’ll work on technology that truly matters. As a pioneer in long-range electric VTOL drones (Vertical Take-Off and Landing), we develop robust systems in collaboration with trusted partners, which are deployed across the globe for defence, agriculture and inspection. Our drones are reliable, user-friendly, and built to perform in demanding environments.
We combine technical innovation with a pragmatic mindset. What we do today shapes where we’ll be tomorrow, and you’ll play a crucial role in that journey.
Our core values
Partnerships – Growing together through long-term collaboration
Customer focus – Thinking and acting with the customer in mind
Ownership – Taking responsibility for what we do
Innovation – Finding smart, practical solutions
Excellence – Focused on quality and results
Team spirit – Building trust, growth, and enjoyment together
The role
Would you like to work on advanced UAV systems that make a real difference to safety and operational effectiveness? As an Electrical & RF Engineer at DeltaQuad, you play a key role in developing robust, mission-critical technology for the next generation of drones.
You are responsible for designing, integrating, and optimising electrical and RF systems within our UAV platforms. You define the electrical architecture and work on subsystems such as power distribution, avionics, C2/data links, sensors, and payloads.
You focus on building reliable and scalable solutions, even in challenging environments with severe GNSS and communication interference. This includes applications in MENAT-type and frontline scenarios, where you contribute to innovative RF solutions such as MIMO mesh networks and phased-array systems.
Key responsibilities
Design and optimise electrical architectures for UAV systems
Develop and improve RF and communication systems (300 MHz – 6 GHz)
Integrate antennas (patches, monopoles, dipoles, and small arrays) into airframes
Improve C2 and data links under interference and jamming conditions
Analyse test data (RSSI, SNR, throughput) and translate insights into concrete improvements
Review and develop high-power and RF PCBs, including EMC/EMI considerations
Design fail-operational and redundant systems
Conduct analyses such as FMEA and FTA
Lead verification and validation processes
Work with lab and test equipment such as VNAs and spectrum analysers
(Optional) Perform RF simulations using tools such as HFSS, CST, or ADS
What you bring
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems & Control Engineering, or Mechatronics
5 years of experience in RF engineering (e.g. radio systems, UAVs, defence communications)
Experience with antenna types such as patches, monopoles, dipoles, and arrays
Knowledge of phased array concepts (beam steering, sidelobes, calibration)
Experience with embedded systems and interfaces (CAN, UART, Ethernet)
Knowledge of RF front-ends and PCB design (impedance, LNAs, PAs, filters, matching)
Experience with EMI/EMC, shielding, and layout strategies
Understanding of electronic warfare (EW), jamming, spoofing, and countermeasures
Hands-on experience with test equipment (VNA, spectrum analyser, OTA testing)
Experience with RF simulation software is a plus
Who you are
A systems thinker who collaborates closely with mechanical and electrical teams
Data-driven, using measurements and telemetry to guide decisions
Pragmatic, balancing ideal designs with manufacturability and speed
Proactive, a strong communicator, and a true team player
